Open May through September, right on the main highway in Wells, the Bear’s Paw is perhaps the most eclectic place to eat in Wells. From Mediterranean Lasagna to Fajitas, Samosa’s and their Bear's Paw wrap. All their meals are made with the best ingredients. Bear River Mercantile Restaurant and Resort

The Bear River Mercantile Restaurant features good home cooking, reasonable prices and a beautiful view. They serve a boarding house style menu featuring a Breakfast until 11:00am and lunch and dinner items for the rest of the day. They also do their best to make special meals for Vegetarians or specific dietary needs.

The restaurant seats 30 people and with advance notice they can cater buffet style meals to larger groups and family events. Our restaurant is open to all, whether you want to eat or just sit and pass some time.

Goldfield Bakery

Visit the Goldfield Bakery in Barkerville and take a walk down memory lane. The aroma of fresh baked sourdough bread and cookies that wafts through the air as you enter the bakery will take you back in time.

At the Goldfield Bakery we take pride in offering you a wide variety of fresh baked goods, prepared from scratch right on the premises.

House Hotel - Rootbeer Saloon

Open in Barkerville Historic Town from the middle of May until September, the House Hotel, also known as the Rootbeer Saloon has a ton of tasty treats.

Open in Barkerville from May until September, the Lung Duck Tong has been impressing guests from around the world for years.

Wake-up-Jake Restaurant

Open in Barkerville from May through until September, the Wake-up-Jake serves a variety of authentic and delicious 1800s dishes.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Jake serves bacon and eggs, porridge, stews, stir-fries, soups, salads, fresh trout, steak and many other delectable dinners and deserts.

Wells Hotel Pub

The Wells Hotel Pub offers weekend entertainment by local musicians, nightly drink specials, billiard and a variety of food from our pub menu.  
Regular hours are from 5:00 p.m. to closing.
Friday, Saturday and Sundays (summer)  the pub is open from 12:00 p.m. to closing.
