Gail moved to Wells one year ago with her husband Ron to open the Homespun Gallery on Pooley Street. She works in clay to create sculptural stylized forms as well as burnished smoked pottery. Raku, and Tree Spirits but still has time to explore all mediums in painting and drawing. Ron is an internationally recognized wood turner who is represented by galleries in B.C. and Alberta. Ron has won awards in every competition he entered. His creations are mainly from local wood which he enjoys collecting. He took photos of miners and their claims that would be sent home to loved ones in distant lands. Today we carry on the tradition of photographing visitors to Barkerville. It is one of the oldest buildings in Barkerville and is believed to have survived the fire of 1868. It was once a tea house and a post office.
