A very nice place to stay. You get homemade cookies in the room. We got a free upgrade to a king bedroom with fireplace. In the room a visitor' book with a lot of useful information and pictures about the location, food and the environment, very affectionately compiled.

Recently the hosts start its own snack stall with fresh fried self-fished fishes (delicious! mmhhh).

If you plan a stop near Barkerville we recommend to stay at the Hubs Motel.

We spent 2 days last year in July in this beautifull place, thanks so much to Diane and Harald, also for the excellent handmade cookies!!

We had a very nice 2 night stay at the Hubs Motel. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. But what really impressed us was a few things. First, when our laptop couldn't connect with their wireless service the owner Diane just said 'Here, borrow mine and just return it in the morning'. Then on our second night we arrived back to see a plate full of fresh baked cookies. Wow! Thirdly, after we left on our journey back I realized my glasses were missing and probably left at the motel (I mostly wear contacts). We called at first chance and Diane said no problem, they were found and she'd mail them to us right away. So we will definitely stay there again whenever we may return and recommend them to others.

We have stayed here for a few days. Our hosts Dianne & Harald keep the Hubs Motel and the surrounded area in a very good condition. Very clean, flowers, plants, etc. everywhere? The guest guide book, which we found in the room is full of information, pictures, data, addresses, the actual menues from the local restaurants etc. An impressive effort to generate it.
The homemade cookies and cakes which Diane serves occasionally in the evening for the ?sweet tooth? tastes excellent. Dianne & Harald can give helpful advice in all sorts of outdoor activities around including hiking, fishing and hunting, etc. For the really affordable rate we have got a beautiful motel.
